This was Southsea Police Station before it relocated in the early 1990s and the building was gutted and converted into a pub. It has had several names over the years but has remained pretty much the same as a large single roomed food and fizz pub with a sports bar vibe. The staff are okay but this isn’t a chatty sort of place. There are better real ale venues in the immediate area and I only return for nostalgic reasons (visit date 17th Dec 2025).

Large all-day-food sort of pub, also with pool, darts, sports tv etc. Draught ales restricted to Doom Bar and GK IPA, although condition was fair enough (Cask Marque listed).

A large Victorian corner pub serving as a sentinel to the Albert Road nightlife area, one of the few buildings here with a front garden. The latter is railed off and sits on the apex of the junction. The ground floor is now knocked through to form a single large carpeted bar, though the original wall layout can be deduced from the iron columns which now support the upper levels. Dogs are not permitted, though children are. There are TV screens and gaming machines, and fat-boy puddings are advertised. Some of the decoration is football themed. The clientele are mostly human and pleasant, though the odd android/troll hybrid did appear. The staff were friendly though, and overall the atmosphere was quite pleasant. The only ale on draft was GK IPA, which was average at best. The lack of ale means I wouldn't include in a crawl.

When we went in this pub it was called the Fuzz and Firkin, the pub is quite big and is situated close to a busy road junction.
Once inside we went in a very large room that had bare boards and it was also very quiet even though it was close to last orders.
There were a few handpumps on the bar and i think this Firkin pub brewed its own beer, the drink we had was quite nice but i car'nt remember the name of it.
This was a bit of a dissapointing pub to end our crawl in.
