E TA left this review about The Wheatsheaf

A pleasant roadside pub which offers a range of real ales and ciders from stillage. There is a reasonable garden at the back with tables and benches, but very limited parking at the front. The main bar is carpeted and formed from two smaller rooms, and there is a second bar to one side. It feels dated but in a good way, more cosy than cramped, though the atmosphere wasn't that welcoming. There was no food on when we visited, though they did put out a bowl of sausage pieces as a token and suggested crisps as a substitute. Ales on were Gooddens Gold, Proper Job, Cheriton Porter, Pots and Stokes Pale Ale, all in very good condition and justifying their various CAMRA awards. Rosie's Pig and Old Rosie were also on draft. A nice local feel, but given the somewhat offhand attitude towards strangers, I'm not sure I'd rush back.
