An urban roadside pub run by Greene King. There is a small paved garden at the back and a car park at the front, and there is a smoking shelter near the front door. Inside, there is a single large space mainly set for diners but with a few tables left for drinkers. There was a friendly atmosphere, and we were chatted to by staff and locals alike, just as well given that they couldn't get the WiFi to work. Food was the standard GK menu, although we were very impressed by the steak, chicken and chips in a pancake the chef knocked up for one of her regulars. They run weekly quiz and poker nights, and despite its location it does have a bit of a village local feel to it. There are gaming machines and live sports on the TV screens. Ales on were GK IPA and Abbott, and there was a dry pump on the bar. Keg offerings were Madri, Guinness, Carlsberg, Thatcher's Haze, John Smiths, Strongbow, Coors, San Miguel and Moretti, and there was an industrial coffee machine on the bar. Not a destination of choice, but a decent enough pub you happen to be in the area.

I've only been there the once.
But first impressions count a great deal. I'm glad to say that my first impression of the pub was a good one!
There's a good friendly atmosphere, & they do very good deals on the food.
Will definately go there again!

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about West End Brewery
I suppose that West End still likes to think of itself as a village (rather than a suburb of Southampton), and this place appears to be still aiming for a "village inn" feel (although quaint it is not). Not too bad, and only really let down by the dull offerings from Greene King.
