A GK pub in a good state of repair and quite busy with a decent clientèle. Staple-shaped interior in the usual GK corporate livery and some decent bay window seating to be had. Two pool tables. Four pumps, three ales; Old Golden Hen, GK IPA and a guest in Roosters YPA which sadly was a watery mess. Barmaid brisk but friendly.

Management has changed again. Not good. Have more ales now but rarely are all available. Dartboard now neglected and no darts available behind bar. Bar staff struggle to cope when there are more than half a dozen customers and often long waits, as office types are all determined to pay individually on cards and decide to look at menu when getting served, not beforehand. Not the friendliest landlady. Not my cup of tea. If you're a smoker, the smoking area is very good

Has had several changes of management and therefore staff. No continuity and the pub suffers as a result. The previous manager didn't have a clue but the current incumbent seems to have improved things. Can get busy with diners sadly and you can wait an age to get served. Nice dart board but the 'music' can be loud and annoying at times.

Warm friendly welcome at Lunch Time, food is excelent and they have a good range of Ales.
