Strongers . left this review about The Mitre
The Mitre is a large stand-alone corner pub that was busy with dining families and young locals who were playing pool during a recent Thursday early evening visit. I counted two pool tables in the front right of the pub and darts was muted on the televisions throughout while some background music played. There’s a mix of high and standard tables throughout the split level interior that has a mix of carpet and parquet flooring. The L-shaped serving counter up the right hand wall supports standard and premium keg and three of the four hand pumps were drawing Greene King IPA and Abbot alongside Lilley’s Cherries. I imagine there’s a good atmosphere where there’s a match on, but there were just too many kids running around for my liking.

Graham Coombs left this review about The Mitre
A large bustling corner pub on a crossroads with the bar immersed in the centre. The front right is the large games area with several pool tables and darts, while there is a lounge area up a step to the left. Further back is mainly a dining area, with a small patio at the rear. Four handpumps supply GK IPA and Abbot with two guests, although sadly the latter were not ready at time of visit, being St Austell Proper Job and Flack Manor Black Jack. It has all the ingredients of a good pub but is a bit large and impersonal.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Mitre
Greene King pub with several distinct zones within the opened-out single bar layout. To the right of the front door is a large games area with three pool tables and various machines. On the left-hand side there is a raised seating area with a few low sofas plus some modern seating at a more sensible height for those wishing to eat. Behind that, there are some high stools is an area which looks like it is used for music events, yet more seating near the bar and then a beer garden out back. Two of three handpumps were working when I visited, dispensing a reasonable pint of IPA and also OSH.
