A lively local as described below, currently run by Wadworth. When we visited there was a live band playing competing with the large TV screen showing live sports. The ales on were 6X (in below average condition), Henry’s and Horizon. It serves it local community well, but it’s not a destination in its own right.

A surprisingly large suburban backstreet pub with a floral exterior. Inside there are two bars in a sort of modern rustic style, the back one being tabled for eating. Being a Wadworth's pub it had the usual selection of their ales on handpump, with an unusual guest from Staggeringly Good - this seems to be becoming a trend for Wadworth's and very welcome too. A perfectly functional locals' pub.

This pub is situated in a residential area in Bitterne. Inside it has two drinking areas, both with wood panelled walls and a large abr serving both. The area to the left of the main entrance has a slightly raised seating area. Ono ur visit the pub was packed with people wathing the Six Nations. However it quietened out a bit once the match was over but still a pleasantly busy pub. Despite being busy service was prompt and food is very good. This ales are mainly Wadsworths with 6X served out of large Oak casks behind the bar and what a great taste it has from these casks! There are baout another 10 hand pumps some of which had guest ales from other brewers including Loddon and Brains breweies. All the ales were in top condition. This pub is well worth visiting if in the area despite it being soem distance from the railway station.
