E TA left this review about The Bat & Ball
A large Victorian roadside pub, right next to the River Avon, which offers B&B. It’s currently owned by Star Inns. There is a fair sized car park to the side and a garden next to the river at the back. There are four open plan seating areas with a variety of seating styles and tables for diners. The staff were friendly enough, though there was a lack of experience which showed among the younger members. Food was OK, but the location dictated a high price for what you get. Four ales on, Ringwood Fortyniner and Best, XP Gold and a house ale, Bat and Ball, brewed by Scottish and Newcastle and rather uninspiring. The other beers were better but still not brilliant. It’s fine to stop for a pint or a lunch when passing.
