After a long-running fight to save the Tumbledown Dick, work to turn the vacant Farnborough pub into a McDonald's is due to begin today (February 24).

There are two bars to this hotel, also a 'venue' where they have live music. No real ale. One of the bars was shut when I visited, peering through the window, it had two pool tables. Has a no smoking area. Worth a visit as there didn't seem to be anywhere closer.
