A Fullers (previously Gale’s) town centre pub which has been substantially renovated but not spoilt by becoming a tourist trap. The large front bar is open plan, light and airy, has stained glass décor including an old Gale’s door screen, and is quite comfortable. There is a smaller dining area at the back and a small room with a pool table next to the bar counter in the middle. There are TV screens, but the sound from these was drowned out by an unholy racket from the jukebox. Food is a basic pub menu supplemented by Sunday roasts and their speciality ‘Pieminister’ menu which has weird entries including moo, blue moo, shroom and Heidi. I can only guess at the last one, but I did once know a German Shepherd Dog called Heidi so I didn't fancy that. The staff were friendly, and although the beer wasn’t in the best condition, it was drinkable. Worth dropping in for a pie (not Heidi) and a pint.

A decent sized Fullers pub that as mentioned below seems to have had a refurb somewhen in the last few years and as a result has lost some character that it may once have had in its Gales days.Open plan inside featuring Sky Sports, there was also a pool table to the rear. Four handpumps on the bar with only Pride and Seafarers available, leaving just ordinary keg stuff as an alternative.
Nothing special here but Ok for a passing, if uninteresting pint.

A good sized pub in the centre of Emsworth, it has a courtyard garden at the rear which was a popular spot on a recent sunny evening. Internally it’s arranged in an L-shape configuration being quite long and narrow but opening out at the front. It has perhaps been recently refurbished in a fairly bland, generic style. Presumably it was a Gales house at one time, and a montage of stained glass spelt out their name in an internal partition. Flooring was wood strip with dark wood panelling on the lower part of the walls. A black tiled fireplace was off to the left, although this looked to be disused. A pool table was off to one side, and a number of plasma screens were showing a sports channel. Barmaid was pleasant and friendly.
We didn’t study the menu but did notice a blackboard offering a range of Pie Minister pies. Beers on tap were Seafarers Ale, HSB and London Pride, whilst ciders were Strongbow and Stowford Press.
