Blue Scrumpy left this review about Castle of Comfort

Two room village pub with pale green wainscotting and a laminate floor. There are a couple of dartboards in the room to the left. The bar is in the right-hand room and there are fireplaces in both. Dogs are allowed in.

The most popular area for seating on a hot summer Sunday was seating to the front of the pub. Every other customer but ourselves was there. A garden to the left-hand side of the pub was unused. It has children's play equipment.

There are 3 handpulls here. One was clipped with Crafty Brewing LBB. A second had a turned Sharp's Coaster clip, with the third handpull unclipped. I'd not heard of Crafty Brewing before but the LBB was good. It was a surprise when the barmaid admitted I'd had the last half from the cask and the clip was turned round. I would never have known. In fact, a lot of the keg beers had also sold out. There was no cider at all. Only premium lagers or Beavertown Neck Oil were available.

It looks like ownership of this pub has changed regularly. So a visit here could be hit or miss. For me, it was an unexpected surprise.

A two bar pub, originally one but the addition of an extension sometime in the past has doubled the pub size, the original bar being very traditional in its makeup the newer bar more food led.
There is outside seating and parking to the frontof the pub and abeer garden to the sideand rear.
Beers on were a little dissapointing as mentioned by Quinno previously, just a choice of Courage Best or Doom Bar for me. A nice country pub ,but beer wise nothing to tempt me back.

Two bar village pub, a bit of character in both rooms – left side is more public bar (noted a nice clock on the chimney breast though the fire itself was sadly unlit on a dank February day). The right room is more upmarket - green carpet, a lit fire, low ceiling, nice bench seating and antlers above an unused fireplace. Rugby on the TV both rooms. GBG 2016 listed and there were three ales on though disappointingly a stupefyingly dull choice of Wadworth 6X, Doom Bar and Courage Best. I closed my eyes and did a Clarkson, alighting on the Courage Best which was in decent shape. It's a nice enough pub but really needs more imagination on the ale front to be worth a special trip. 6.5
