The Globe on the lake is situated on a bend of a fairly busy road and care needs to be taken if approaching and indeed leaving on foot as there are no footpaths.It struck me as a food led pub though for drinking only purposes there is no problem.There are two walkthrough, slightly rambling rooms, well catered for with seating, there is also a decent sized and pleasant beer garden overlooking as the pub name suggests a large lake complete with Swans, Geese and other floating bird life.
The beers on from the three hand pumps were Adnams Southwold, Upham Punter and Moorhouse White Witch. It was worth the short walk from the main town here but I wouldn't particularly go out of my way again.

This pub re-opened earlier in the summer, under new ownership. New owners have re-fitted the interior of the pub, but have done it well - the large open fireplace remains. They've also made a start on improving the garden, which benefits from a lovely location (overlooking the lake).

On my last 2 visits, they've offered a selection of 2 or 3 ales. They're also now providing food regularly, which is above average, but not cheap.

Since the re-opening, the pub has been considerably busier, which is something of a relief. It's a pleasant place that had been going downhill.
