A modern Ember Inns house on a busy suburban junction. There is outside seating on a terrace at the front giving a good view of the passing traffic. Two bars, both pleasantly decorated. One is a noisy, floorboarded public bar with a gaming machine, the other more sedate dining room than saloon, the atmosphere soothed by calm background music, extending into a side annex. The landlord and staff were pleasant and helpful. Two ales on, GK IPA and TEA, both in reasonable condition. What lets it down is the food – poor quality ingredients, over-processed and badly presented. I'd be happy to come back for a beer, but not to eat.

A fairly large pub sat on a corner of a roundabout, there are two bars, the larger is more food and family orientated whilst the other bar, I took to be the Public Bar is relatively quite small, this works in its favour and has a little bit of atmosphere about it.Three beers were on,Doom Bar, Hogs Back TEA and ST Austell Tribute, all pretty mainstream stuff but the Tribute was nice enough. There is a beer garden to the rear. Not the type of pub I would normally target but I was quite taken by the small bar and may well stop off again.
