Called in for a quick half while waiting for a tram about lunch time on Saturday, appeared to have a hand pump with Cheshire gold on it I opted for the dark mild, unusual pub which I think is aimed at students as it had a 8ft shrek in the corner two pianos next to each other and a pool table, it had a fruit machine and music was playing. there were a few locals sat on a leather settee next to shrek. The seating I was on reminded me of my old works canteen with metal framed chairs , they do food which appeared like all day breakfast stuff, it was a bit dark and dingy for my liking so I will probably give it a miss in future.

A one roomed pub that was very busy on my Friday evening visit. There were 2 beers on handpump, but as they were both advertised as being reduced to £1.50 a pint I decided not to risk it. Very raucous pub with a slightly threatening atmosphere. I was only waiting for a tram, so I had a quick half of fizz and decided to wait on the platform instead. Not my cup of tea at all.

THE BUCK&UNION HAS A FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE AND IT'S CLIENTELLE IS QUITE VARIED FROM ALL AGE GROUPS. FROM STUDENT'S TO PENSIONERS. THE ALE IS CHEAP AND THERE IS A POOL TABLE FOR 10PENCE.THERE IS A SMOKING AREA TO THE REAR AND A CAR PARK. UPSTAIRS IS A PRIVATE FUNCTION ROOM. THERE IS LOTS OF ENTERTAINMENT THROUGHOUT THE WEEK WITH BINGO AND A QUIZ ETC., KARAOKE AT WEEKENDS. IT IS A GAY FRIENDLY PUB WITH A NICE ATMOSPHERE. FOOD IS SERVED THROUGHOUT THE DAY FOR UNDER £5.00. A TYPICAL LOCAL PUB.
