Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Plough Inn
The Plough Inn was one of two micropubs in the village of Charfield. With the Pear Tree now closed, this is the only one remaining and competes with the Railway for customers.
The tiny carpeted interior has a large gnu's head above a fireplace, dried hops on the ceilings and a piano against the one wall. I believe I also spied a boar's head. Far more popular for our sunny Thursday afternoon visit was an outdoor yard with a serving hatch. A code for the wifi can be found at the bar.
4 handpulls can be found at the bar, with 3 clipped. Fuller's London Pride is the regular beer. Guests were St Austell Proper Job & Glastonbury Hedge Monkey. Ciders were Cornish Orchards Raspberry and Elderflower & Dry & West Country Gold. Pick of the keg beers was Meantime Anytime IPA.
With a friendly landlady happy to engage in conversation, this seemed quite a hospitable place. I'm not sure about its designation as a micropub but I would say it is worth a visit.
