Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Canterbury
Surprisingly large edge-of-town but non-chain pub / restaurant, with various seating and dining areas in an overall L shape. Mix of rather dull furniture and décor, but it does have a pool table and both front and side beer garden areas. Just Abbot (£3.85) available from the three handpumps, but at least that was in good shape. No nothing special, but I warm to a place with a 'Community Matters' noticeboard and a sign saying things like "All welcome" and "Dog friendly" by the entrance, especially when backed up with friendly and efficient service. A good example of its type I thought.

E TA left this review about The Canterbury Inn
A roadside pub built in the 1960s on the edge of a housing estate. There is a small car park at the front, and be aware that if you try to let a SATNAV take you to the pub, it leads you into the estate behind where the expected car park fails to materialise. It’s a GK Meat and Eat pub, so the menu is predictable, cheap and basic. Inside, there is a single [-shaped bar, with a larger dining room leading off it at the back. The bar was unremarkable, though the tables were sticky. The young female staff were terse, rude even, and certainly not interested in serving. Ales on were Abbott and Tribute, both in good condition. It’s probably best left as a local.
