Komakino . left this review about The Old Crown Inn

An Oak Taverns pub well outside their Bucks/Oxon locale. This is curiously-placed beyond the main road running through the village and surrounded by residential properties. A two-barred beast, entered from the side of the building, the main, rectangular is located to the left and a smaller 'snug' bar is to the right via a door. A mid-afternoon, weekday visit saw a mini-'Spoon-esque daytime brigade in attendance in the main bar including a primary school child, a games machine and large-screen TV against the far wall tuned into a radio station. Of the four handpulls, just the single ale available – Sharp's Atlantic – with a Doom Bar clip reversed on a second; the Atlantic being served by a barmaid (landlady?) well into her 70s. However, as mentioned in some previous reviews, the joy of pub-ticking is the chance of being surprised and the Atlantic was in superb condition (NBSS 4). A curate's egg if anything.
