What could have been a rundown pub in a slightly rundown village has been given a new lease of life. the main building houses two adjoining bars, but given over more to food (which sounded good but not sampled). A couple of handpumps offer a house ale (from Sharps) and a cider, plus usual kegs and some craft beers. But go through to the courtyard and you will find an old outbuilding tastefully converted into 'The Black Pig' real ale bar, boasting half a dozen barrels on stillage, with regularly changing guests and Cask marque listed. To add some extra space, there are some tables up in the roof space also. The inn itself offers some interesting-looking rooms. Outside, there are some tables in the courtyard, and some more further back on a grass area. All in all, a worthy find, well worth a visit.
