Quinno _ left this review about The White Hart Royal Hotel
Two-roomed place, upmarket but ‘character rustic’. Small main bar to left with bare brick walls, low ceiling and wonky beams. Up a couple of steps to a dining area with black ceiling & wall beams, some more bare brick, large Inglenook fire and a number of wall-mounted rifles; all rather dramatic. I settled in the, er, settle in the main bar with what looked like an incredibly aged leaded glass window and warped wood frame behind. An impressive décor item are repros of the plates from the first ever road map from 1675 showing London to Aberystwyth(!). Fire appeared unused which is a shame if so. Dog friendly which I didn’t expect. Two ales, Hooky and Old Hooky (very good nick). Be-suited but friendly barmaid. Very busy on my lunchtime visit and rather enjoyable.
