A traditional looking brick built pub set some way back from the road with some outside seating at the front. Initial thoughts on approaching it were that it was closed, with no lights on and the front doors firmly bolted. It subsequently transpired though that only the bar area at the rear of the pub was open, with access being gained through a further door towards the rear of the establishment.
Internally it’s a fairly basic, no frills boozer with little of any note. Walls were a rather grubby cream colour, whilst a pattered carpet covered much of the floor with some laminate around the bar counter. Seating was a mixture of wooden pews and Chesterfield sofa’s and arm chairs, along with a chair that had been constructed from an old wooden beer barrel. There was little atmosphere, probably not helped by the fact that there was only one other punter in there, and it could definitely have done with a little background music. A large projector screen was on one wall as well as a couple of further TV screens, although only one of these was in use showing a local news channel. A pool table was towards the rear.
Unfortunately there were no real ales on tap, with the solitary Doom Bar pump having it’s clip reversed. Ciders fared somewhat better with Addlestones, Thatcher’s Gold and Stowford Press. I guess maybe this serves the local populace well enough, particularly as there is nothing much else in the vicinity and the couple running it seemed friendly enough, but it’s certainly not somewhere to make a special trip to get to, unless of course you’re interested in the clairvoyant evening that I saw advertised on an A-board outside.

SUNDAY LUNCH!!
This is a fantastic place if you are looking for good value for money.
The roast potatoes are great! much more quality than a toby carv. Karens home made gravy really makes the meal. Good service and freindly enviroment.
