Formerly the Bird & Bush this was a modern estate pub when it was originally opened by Charles Wells, but in recent years it had gone downhill a lot and eventually closed due to lack of trade, possibly caused by a lack of encouragement from those running the place. Eventually re-opened under new management after a refurbishment, and seems to be doing reasonably well. Quite comfortable, with TV for sports but also with areas where you can avoid the invasive presence of the TV. Being a Wells & Co pub means that Brewpoint beers are on offer so the keg is a bit better than elsewhere in Luton, and there is real ale on the bar which is usually Anchorman and a couple of beers from Adnams.
