Leigh-on-Sea bar on one of the main roads through Leigh. The bar is immediately in front of you as you enter. There is seating either side, with the premises stretching back a fair way to the left-hand side. It felt a little dark inside.
3 Leigh-on-Sea beers were available in cask format - Bawley Bitter, Castle Black & Kursal Gold. Rich's Legbender was the real cider also on handpull. Craft beers were Tiny Rebel Clwb Tropica, Siren Lumina, Bristol Beer Factory Milk Stout & Leigh-on-Sea Lostoberfest, Legra Pale & Boatyard IPA. There were also 4 Thatcher's ciders. The full selection can be found on Untappd.
Burgers are amongst the food on offer. Live music takes place on a Saturday and there is a quiz on a Wednesday. Dogs are welcome.
With just a couple of other younger customers, there was little to no atmosphere inside. Although another punter did arrive shortly before I departed. He chose to sit on the outdoor patio to the front. Having said that, my Castle Black was in good form and I suspect this is another Leigh venue that gets busier later in the evening.

Fairly ropey and charmless modern refit with a chunk of the 70s still in evidence via the black beams everywhere including being inlaid into the fake daub walls. As you get to the bar the nasty black and turquoise colours hit your sensibilities alongside the high scrubbed wood tables. Red Hot Chilli Peppers on the stereo to blacken my mood further. That said, it's GBG listed and there were three Leigh-on-Sea Brewery beers to choose from. My Six Little Ships was in surprisingly decent shape (NBSS 3) given that I looked to be the only punter on it. I can see why the local CAMRAs put it in the book but I wouldn’t be wanting to go to the effort of revisiting. 5.5
