Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Horseshoes
Needing somewhere to eat for our final stop of the day in Bedfordshire, we headed to this village pub which is now primarily an Indian restaurant.
The door to the left as you look at the building from the car park leads to the small bar. Cask ales have been discontinued. The keg selection was Doom Bar, Aspall's, Madri, Guinness & Cobra. The dedicated barman asked us if we wanted to eat or just wanted a drink and we duly responded "both"! He directed us to the right-hand side to a larger room which is now used as a dining area. Despite the first waiter not being confident of giving us a table as we hadn't booked, a second waiter overruled him and showed us to one of the many spare tables.
The food was reasonably good and the staff turned out to be fairly friendly. It seemed quite popular with locals and a number of people arrived in the bar area to wait for take aways. A TV in the bar area was showing the Italy Euros game. Whether this bar area is used by drinkers only, as opposed to diners or takeaway collections, I'm not sure. But at least this village does still have a bar to use.
