A free house with a slant on food, but more of an all-rounder - five handpumps, plenty of flyers and photos of 'Studhambury' - a local music festival, and a small room with framed sporting paraphernalia including two framed Spurs shirts and signed Ryder Cup team photos. Entering the front of the building from the car park, the L-shaped bar faces, with tables either side of the entrance - the sports room to the right with its own small servery, and a dining area to the left and beyond the bar. A small, brick fireplace is located against the right-hand wall which was pleasingly lit in my visit and with bare boards and a patterns bar apron, red-painted wallpaper, ceramic whisky hugs hanging from a central beam and friendly service meant this was a pleasant stop)off. The only bum note was the ale selection - for a freehouse, options of GK IPA, Adnam's Southwold Bitter, TT Landlord and SN Spitfire (a fifth pump was unclipped) in this day and age smacks a little of lack of adventure.
