Strongers . left this review about The Oddfellows Arms
Sky and TNT Sports are both advertised alongside regular live music outside the Oddfellows in a small flag stoned front beer garden. The interior is J-shaped with a tiled floor from the entrance to the wood panelled serving counter that faces it. To the left is a carpeted area with high tables in the front windows and a pool table towards the rear. Up the longer right-hand side of the pub is a dartboard and seating that runs from the front to the rear where there’s access to a beer garden. The televisions throughout were airing muted cricket via Sky Sports and there was some background music playing. Available from the polite barmaid was a premium keg selection alongside Brentwood’s Swing Low from the pair of hand pumps. This pub isn’t that far from the main drag, but it is just far enough that I doubt I’ll revisit.

Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Oddfellows Arms
This place situated just outside Chelmsford's centre is now called the Oddfellows Arms Smokehouse and specialises in BBQ food.
It still has more of a pub feel than a restaurant and both the inside and outside drinking areas were busy on our late Saturday evening visit.
Staff were friendly, but prices here are expensive. My round of half a bitter, half a cider and a soft drink came to £8. We chose to eat too and whilst there was plenty of food in the platter my wife and I shared, that wasn't cheap too.
Dark Star Hophead is the regular beer here. Guests were Adnams Ghost Ship & Chelmsford Blueshack Bitter. I ordered the Bitter, which was fairly insipid.
Staff were friendly, the atmosphere was good and we enjoyed our food. I'd give the place the benefit of the doubt and would consider a return visit, but I have to admit to be surprised to this pub's inclusion in the latest Good Beer Guide.
