Opposite the Hoy & Helmet, with the Anchor in sight too, this pub was busy on an early NYE evening with people finishing meals and clutches of lads watching the beginning of a Premier League game on a large TV screen. The room is staple-shaped and the floor carpeted throughout. A raised area to the left contained tables and chairs laid out for dining (the usual GK meal deals) with a nice fireplace built into the wall and Farrow & Ball-style wallpaper to the right of the fireplace. A sunken area to the left of the bar appeared to be cleared (possibly for a disco?). Four ales on tap was a surprise, albeit nothing to set the world on fire - GK IPA, Marston's Pedigree, Sharp's Doom Bar and H&H Rock On Rudolph. Coupled with the afoementioned Anchor and Hoy & Helmet, this forms part of a triumvirate that would make for a pretty lacklustre mini crawl.
