Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The North Star Inn

Refurbished side-street Craft Union pub, set on a corner so it has a partly opened-out L-shaped layout comprising a lounge at one end, the pool table at the other, and the bar and dartboard area in the centre. On the cask ale front, I was just expecting Doom Bar, if that, so it was a surprise to find both Harvey's (£4.25) and Old Speckled Hen on two of the handpumps with something else being pulled through on the third.

The layout and transport-related memorabilia is as described by Steve C 18 months ago and the beer range continues on the 'safe' side. The Wye Valley HPA was the least expected from a range of five ales and very good it was too. The pub advertises itself via leaflets rather than a website: these indicate home cooked food is available, as well as regular entertainment.

There was a good crowd of regulars crowding the bar, getting ready to watch the horse racing on the TV. I didn't stick around, but I'm sure they had a good time - they seemed a friendly bunch and, given more time, I'd have been happy to stay for another myself.

Strongers . left this review about The North Star Inn

The North Star Inn is a nice sized U shaped pub just off the main drag into St Leonards. There is a pool table and dartboard in an area to the right of the pub and around to the far left there is a decked smoking area complete with shelter. There is a train theme running throughout the pub with old pictures and signs up on the walls, but it isn’t over the top and tacky. The bar is stocked with the usual draught suspects and supports five hand pumps that were drawing EPA, Harveys Best, Pendle Witches Brew, Pedigree and Landlord. I plumped for a pint of Landlord that was well served by the friendly barmaid. There was some very low background music playing and I didn’t note seeing any TVs, but there is a meat raffle every Sunday from 15:00.

For a Monday afternoon this pub was very busy with regulars and there was a good atmosphere. I’d have no problem returning here and I think that this probably the best pub in St Leonards.
