The Grenadier is a large Sizzling Pubs Co establishment with parking out the front and for some reason there were four bouncers on the door during my recent midweek evening visit. I’m not sure why as the average age of the clientele was around the fifty mark and none of them looked as though they were likely to cause any trouble. The right hand side of the pub is full of seating and this is where the cheap pub grub is mainly consumed. A smaller public bar area to the left of the pub houses a dartboard and there was some low background music playing. There are some televisions dotted about but these were all off and I saw no Sky advertised.
The bar is stocked with standard draught and two hand pumps are supported. The Young’s Ordinary was off, but Harvey’s Best was available. I found the barmaid to be miserable and her rudeness was the most memorable thing about this place.
I don’t envisage a return to this pub anytime soon.
