Strongers . left this review about The Carlisle
The Carlisle is a large sea front pub with the bar splitting it in two to create separate bars and to the rear of the right hand bar, that is made up of seating, is a separate room with seating and a dartboard. The left hand bar has two pool tables that should have been re-clothed a couple of years ago and also a jukebox that is turned off on Saturdays as live music is hosted here. Judging by the names of the bands Grandmothers are not invited! I counted eight hand pump with five one side of the bar and three the other, but only Harveys Best and Hobgoblin were available. The Guinness was fine though and the barman was a friendly guy. After 17:00 on Wednesdays the pool tables are free and there are some picnic tables on the path outside for use in hotter weather. There was a bigot in attendance loudly spouting his homophobic views and if I was working the bar I’d have told him to button it or get out, but to be fair the few locals in attendance were disagreeing with him and making him seem a little foolish.
There is nothing in this pub to entice me back.
