Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Martello

Named after the distinctive fortifications dotted along the coast hereabouts (although not particularly close to one as far as I can tell). This estate pub retains a three-part interior, with the lounge to the right, a sports bar on the left-hand side and a snug in the link between these in front of the servery (all with now windows). No cask ale unfortunately, so made do with a quick John Smith's (£2.25, half) from the limited keg options. Anyway, it's back open again after a period of closure, and that's the main thing.

Strongers . left this review about Martello Inn

This pub is split into two halves with the left hand side being the public bar where the younger locals from the surrounding estate hang out and play pool and darts whilst listening to the jukebox or watching the large plasma, which was off during my Saturday night visit and I didn’t spot any Sky Sports signs. The quieter right hand side is much more relaxed with the older generation chatting about life and football. There are a few impressive models of ships on the shelves and this side has two hand pumps to compliment the standard draught range, but they were both drawing Landlord. The Guinness was good and the service friendly enough with an air of ‘who the feck are you’. The pub grub is very cheap, but only served at lunchtimes which runs from 12:30 until 14:30.

There are three picnic tables out front in the car park and there is also some covered seating out the back in a paved area that leads to a small grass play area, no playground furniture though.

This is a local’s pub that the misses wasn’t very impressed with, but I would use it if we lived around the corner.
