By far the best-looking of the three pubs in this village (and the other two aren't too shabby either) with its low thatched roof and exposed wood in the fascia. Internally it still looks the business too, low-ceilinged, plenty of original exposed wood and maintaining a multi-roomed aspect. The bar is to the right on entry against the back wall with quarry tiles in and around the area (three tall tables and stools opposite) with a large, open fireplace to the left and a semi-function room behind to the left. Up a couple of steps to the bar's right takes you through to a separate dining area which hooks back and beyond. Two ales from four pumps (two unclipped) were CW Eagle IPA and Globe Hopper: the later an uninspiring pale ale at £4 a pint. Quiet compared to the other two pubs on my Monday evening visit, this wins the award on the aesthetics, but didn't feel as cosy as it should have.
