A characterful interior featuring a Toad In The Hole game, there is extra upstairs seating which was being utilised in a very busy pub. Music was being played by an in house DJ and was far too loud despite my hearing not being the best. Two ales on, Long Man Best and Three Acre Session Pale which was unfortunately past it's best.
Despite a couple of negatives on my Saturday evening visit I didn't dislike the pub.

The signage out the front and the extensive list of food on the A board led me to believe that the Windmill was a gastro pub. The kitchen is open from midday until 21:00 and the food all looked very reasonably priced. The opening times are from 10:00 until after midnight every day and as I approached on Monday night two extremely slaughtered middle aged couples came stumbling out of the door. I thought this strange for a gastro pub and it was only when I opened the door that I realised that this is in fact a pub aimed at students, which explained the late opening times. The bar is located to the left of the entrance and is stocked with standard and premium draught alongside three hand pumps that were drawing Deuchars, Adnams Southwold and Flying Scotsman.
This pub feels like an adult up has decorated it to appeal to students and the walls are adorned with flyers and fairy lights hang from the ceiling. I found the two women on duty to be nice enough, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to drink here again.
