2 floor pub (ground floor & basement) serving 3 real ales and food during my visit. Dog friendly.

There is a sign outside the Round Georges that advertises a two month beer festival throughout January and February. During my visit on Tuesday evening a couple of weeks ago I was disappointed to find four unused hand pumps which left Dark Star’s American Pale Ale available from the fifth hand pump and a barrel of Hepworth’s Conqueror on the bar. Maybe my visit was just at a bad time when most casks had run dry. There is also a standard draught range and I found the service to be very polite. Food is served during lunch and evening periods Monday through to Saturday and from midday until 18:00 on Sundays when roast dinners are available. The left hand side of the pub was being used by dining couples and there was some bland love music playing, but it was Valentine’s Day so I suppose this was to be expected. The larger bar area is to the right and there is a plasma screen that was showing muted Baltic football. There is a downstairs area that I didn’t visit, but the signs for it advertised a gallery with extra seating and a television. There is also a monthly quiz, but I didn’t see a firm dates advertised.
This is a decent enough place for a quick beer, but it’s a little out of the way to warrant a revisit.

The Round Georges is one of Brighton unknown treasures! The food is f*ing amazing and such good value for money for local produce! I have been a few times now and the staff are always friendly. Been once with the family and will go back again soon. Seek it out! 5 stars.

really excellent food. can get very busy for football and sports but has a nice carpeted area to eat in and which stays quieter.
