On approaching in the evening I wasn't sure the pub was open, as it was very gloomy. On trying the door, however, it became apparent that the pub was open but candle-lit. It was comfortable inside, with a real fire, but candle light doesn't really do it for me, I'm afraid. There were three hand pumps with Sharps Doom Bar, Long Man Pale and Harveys Sussex Best on. If passing this way again, I'll try this pub during daytime, I think.

The Foundry used to be called The Pedestrians and changed its name, at least two years ago, to match the name of the street it is located on. There are a couple of café style tables with some chairs on the path outside and a chalk board on the wall advertises live traditional Irish folk music on Mondays and Americana music on Sunday nights. There is also a boastful claim that this pub has the best Sunday roast in Brighton which will set one back £8. Inside there is some seating on the left and the bar is located on the right where there are three hand pumps that were dispensing Harveys Best, Doom Bar and Summer Lightening when I visited last weekend. The draught available was mainly premium products, but I did manage to purchase a decent half of Guinness.
I thought that the service was friendly and the other patrons were friendly enough so I would have no problem returning.
