Strongers . left this review about The Chimney House
The Chimney House is a backstreet corner pub that was busy when I visited on Saturday evening a couple of weeks ago. Food is served from midday until 16:00 and 18:00 until 21:45 and the price of the mains averages around £11. To the right of the entrance are an open kitchen and some dining tables that were hosting a large party of diners that seemed to be celebrating some important event. The bar wraps around to the left where there is more seating and yet more diners. There were a couple of blokes sitting at the bar whilst drinking white wine, which I thought odd as there was some very nice Landlord available. Harvey’s Best was the second ale choice and a third hand pump was unused. The draught products were all premium and there may have been some Guinness. There is also a bar menu where the likes of mini fish and chips, breaded whitebait or baby ribs can be purchased for £5. There is no television and the generic background music was very low.
The staff were all very friendly and I wasn’t made to feel uncomfortable just having a beer, but I think I’ll leave the Chimney to the readers of Top Table in future.
