A pleasant town pub in a pedestrianised area. the island bar is surrounded by traditional tables and chairs, with wood panelled walls brightened by large floral prints. The general feel is complemented by cosy traditional lighting. Rarely for the town centre it boasts an active darts board. Draught ales on at time of visit were Harvey's Best, Tribute and Long Man Bitter.

The Market Inn is a U shaped pub with a standard draught selection alongside Amstel and two hand pumps that were drawing Caledonian Brewery’s Flying Scotsman and Harveys Best during my midweek evening visit last week. Food is served daily from 11:00 until 21:00 and roasts are available from midday until 18:00 on Sundays. The mains cost anything up to £10 and they looked good value for money.
I found the staff to be pleasant and would pop back in if passing.
