Strongers . left this review about Crown & Anchor
I saw a sign outside the Crown and Anchor stating that there was 50p off every pint until the first try is scored in each Six Nations rugby match. I thought that I had got lucky as the France v Ireland game was about to kick off, but alas I soon gleaned from the plasma screen that it had been called off due to a frozen pitch. Sky Sports is advertised so the football is shown when it is on, but I bet it is quieter in here on a Saturday since the Seagulls moved up the road to Falmer.
The bar area is L shaped and wraps around to the left where there is a pool table that was being used by a large group of student aged locals. On the right there is a raised seating area and some doors at the rear lead to another separate seating area. The bar is stocked with standard draught products and five hand pumps, one of which was unused leaving Harvey’s Best (x2), Landlord and Weston’s Country Perry as the cask options. I didn’t see any food prices of serving times but pub grub is advertised.
The staff were friendly and I was able to get comfortable very quickly, but this pub is a little out of the way to warrant a revisit.
