The Cricketers is located over the road from a green where there was actually a cricket match in progress when I visited early on a recent Saturday afternoon. There are some picnic tables outside the front of the pub and to the side there is a large car park which accommodates the diners that come to take advantage of the cheap food that is served between midday and 21:00 everyday. The bar is located in the centre of the pub and I counted three plasma screens for showing Sky Sports in this area. The right hand side of the pub is set up mainly for dining and the left hand side has a projector screen and two pool tables. A standard draught selection is available and the three hand pumps were drawing Abbot (x2) and Greene King IPA.

I left after waiting at the bar for three or four minutes and not being acknowledged by any of the young bar staff even though I was the only person waiting to be served. Maybe I’d use this pub if I wanted to watch a match and I lived locally, but as I do not live locally I cannot see a return visit.
