Always trying to find the unusual - the Hidden Barrel more than provided. My first Lithuanian themed Micropub. Seemed quite busy on a Monday afternoon - with a games/pool room, bar with high stools and seating in the window of this shop conversion.
Had to try a Volfas Engelman Imperial Porteris in bottle form. Well, when you are in Vilnius.

This is now called the Hidden Barrel and is, unusually, a pub specialising in cask beer and Lithuanian beers. The operator is very keen on both, and is keeping his real ales very well. As a truly independent pub he is sourcing these from minor breweries (Potton, Tring, Weldon, Buntingford, Rocket) and is ambitious to widen the selection from the current two handpumps to four or more. This is a rare oasis for good beer in the central shopping area of Bedford.
