A very pleasant back street pub in a red brick building which was once the Devonish Brewery Tap. It consists of a single L-shaped bar formed from four earlier rooms, with old timber flooring and small fireplaces at each end. There s a large outside seating area at the front, though I’d hesitate to call it a garden. The two female staff were a bit pathetic, but they looked like students at the end of their Summer break so that should be no surprise. The other customers were a couple of tourists who had managed to get away from the harbour, and a large group of foreign merchant seamen enjoying some shore leave. There was a basic modern pub menu, but this didn’t look very inspiring and was expensive, so we didn’t eat here. The beer was by far the best feature of this pub. Jurassic, Tribute and Landlord were on tap, plus a clip labelled ‘Lifeboat’, a rebranded ale of unknown provenance which was used to support the local RNLI station, and there was a fifth pump clipped for a mystery ale in the cellar waiting to be tapped. A box of Old Rosie was also available. The keg range was Amstel, Guinness, Thatcher’s Gold, Fosters, Estrella and Camden Hells. This one is worth seeking out if you’re in the area.

Excellent pub with excellent ales and a warm welcome. The pub stands opposite the old brewery which is now Brewers Quay (where the welcome isn't as warm, or the beers as well-kept). I had a pint each of the Bombardier, FortyNiner, JD1742 and Chesil - all of which were top notch. The food was good value with decent portions and reasonably priced, although the menu consists of ordinary pub grub and could do with a bit of inspiration. Well above average.

In 2009 this place had good food & good beer.
In 2010 the beer is still good, but the food is well overpriced for what it is.
Nice enough place to sit outside

A fine ale selection, and a smashing area outside to sit and watch the world go by. Occasionally there's a band outside, and the bar staff are friendly and welcoming.
There are other pubs in Weymouth that the cognoscenti will suggest you visit, but this place is better than those...
