An L-shaped, spruced-up brick facade building opposite a Waitrose store. Entry is via a small car park, with a good-looking, semi-hidden tiered beer garden abutting the car park. The bar is entrance-facing with the squarish room predominantly left for the noble art, with a smattering of square tables as well as a leather sofa and mini-armchairs by a large open fireplace inhabited by a small, modern burner. An open doorway to right of the bar down a couple of steps was a dining area occupied by silver-haired eaters. Ales on offer were limited to Eagle IPA and Bombardier 'Glorious English' with a third pump unclipped. The Eagle was £1.90 and as good as you'd hope it to be (although outdone by the nearby Queens Head afterwards). It's all rather bland and contemporary inside really, so probably falls right into its 'over-the-road' demographic (c.f. my first sentence), so I'm happy to leave them to it.
