Previously The Hogshead, this is a standard Slug and Lettuce shop conversion on a busy high street corner. The tiled floor and bland décor make it feel less than cosy, while the exclusively elderly population gives it the ambience of a rest home. To be fair, there were 2 ales on, Hopback TEA and Golden Hen, but both were served way too cold to be enjoyable. It is what it is, it serves a purpose, and it's not for me.

This used to be a tolerable pub when it was branded as a Hogshead, but it seemed to be yet another souless chain establishment when I visited over the New Year. Now a Slug and Lettuce the place had a distinct lack of atmosphere and the only thing I could find of worth to say about it was that it wasn't as expensive as I'd been expecting.
Ringwood Best and Bombadier on offer; neither of which were on good form.
