Sherborne’s latest hostelry is another of the ever-expanding Loungers chain, situated in a large shop premises which was previously The Factory Shop, and before that, Woolworth’s. They seem to have run out of lampshades as there are only two or three different styles here, and their standard recycled gym floor is swapped for a plain new parquet style. The young staff are enthusiastic, while the majority of the customers appear to be Sherborne’s elderly and infirm. The keg selection is fairly normal for Loungers – Henry Weston’s Vintage, Wiper and True Kaleidoscope, Murphy’s Stout, Modelo, Cruzcampo, Morettiand Old Mout Berry Cider. No surprises here, you know what you’re getting.
