Originating in the Oxfordshire village of Chalgrove to the south, BMAN now resides at this site by the Thames, just off Donnington Bridge betwixt the Abingdon and Iffley Roads, sharing premises with a boat repair workshop. The taproom is a recent introduction (early 2026) with limited opening on Friday evenings and all day Saturday. Housed in the brewery itself, it wouldn’t be out of place on the Bermondsey Beer Mile, with brewing kit either side of the narrow interior. A small bar front is located towards the back of the unit with around eight keg fonts mounted to a large cooler unit to the left rear. Nine available on my visit: five BMAN brews, two from Verdant, an AF beer (brewery not recorded) and a cider. Pints of Tap Rickster (a 4% ‘taproom IPA’) and Newzie Doozer (a 4.5% hazy NEIPA) were cool and refreshing (£5.60/pint): perfect for the long, hot summer of 2026, but ill-timed on my part, visiting during an inevitable Bank Holiday downpour. There’s bench seating out front, plus further seating on a green to the side and opposite the building. They also get food vans of varying cuisines in to tempt people to remain in situ. No world-beater and well off the beaten track, but worth a visit if you are a brewery tap completist. Fun fact: the owner’s wife hand-draws all the pump clips.
