A good traditional club in a Grade 2 listed building, open to all but members enjoy discounts. Various rooms include a concert room and a games room with two snooker tables. The main bar area is not over large and it is tidily but plainly furnished, with views over the river valley below. There is also a nice lawned garden at the rear for the summer. We had a very friendly welcome and cask ales available were a well-kept TT Golden Best (@£4.00) and something from Lune Brew, while a third pump had brewery conditioned Wainwright but will revert to genuine beer later in the year. Apparently one pump usually carries a Timmy Taylor beer and the others change. Definitely worth dropping in going to or from the station.
