E TA left this review about Post and Wicket

Part of the Wedmore Sports Centre, this pub is actually a separate pub business rather than a sports club, though it does share some of the facilities including the car park and lavatories. The pub consists of a single large bar with glass walls on two sides, the back wall offering close views of the football and cricket pitches behind. There are a few comfy seats, but mainly it's tables and benches. There is a pool table, gaming machine and dartboard, and there were TV screens showing football. The bar manager was good company, welcoming us and chatting while we drank, while his dog leapt up onto the bar and went to sleep; we decided to let it lie. There was a solitary unclipped hand pump on the bar, which turned out to be dispensing Butcombe Original, a fresh barrel on that morning, so it was in perfect condition. Also available were Guinness, Amstel, Madri, Thatcher's Haze, Gold and Rascal, and San Miguel. Pizzas are usually available, but when there's a fixture on they get mobile vendors to set up outside to reduce their administrative burden. A good modern pub, worth dropping in for a pint regardless of the sports programme, though check the opening hours first.
