Tapps @ Conwy is the latest branch of Tapps. I'd been to the one in Llandudno and am aware of another in Rhos but this one is fairly new to Conwy and certainly wasn't here the last time I visited in 2021. As Will says below, it is ideally situated between what are arguably the two best cask ale pubs in town. Tapps is hidden away in an alleyway but certainly merits including on a 3-pub crawl.
Unlike the Llandudno branch, which is more of a micropub, this one is located in a warehouse. It has a stone floor with rugs of different sizes creating a bit of homeliness. There was a piano near the entrance and there was at least one cosy side room to hide away in. One weatherboarded wall was lined with lots of pumpclips. It wouldn't surprise me if all had been on since they opened, as the range is extensive.
For my visit, the cask ale range was Facer's TAPPS Welsh Bitter (a regular beer which appears to be a rebadged Sunny Bitter), Facer's Abbey Blonde, Otley Archon APA, Castle Rock Black Gold, Titanic Cherry Porter Grand Reserve & Butcombe Original. Ciders were Broadoak Mango, Hallet's Rum Cask, Iford New Tradition & Sandford Orchards Rib Tickler. Meanwhile, craft beers were Wild Horse Nokota, Buckskin & Gwilym Ddu, Flowerhorn FrogBat, Brass Castle Fifty Shades of Ginger, Vocation Hop, Skip & Juice & Indie Rabble Tiny Violence.
My Cherry Porter Grand Reserve went down very nicely. If you're still struggling to choose, there is a fridge to the side of the bar with more bottled and canned beers.
Despite this being a warehouse unit, it does still work well as a bar and actually has a cosy feel. The beer and cider range certainly helps with its appeal. Definitely one not to miss on any Conwy itinerary.

This is one of a small group of adventurous new pubs in small industrial buildings, not attached to any particular brewery, but focused on showcasing the products of numerous small, independent breweries. This one is in a yard between the Bank of Conwy on one side and the Albion on the other, which is pretty canny. Not to put too fine a point on it, this is a shed, but on a big scale, and laid out like a pub, with a bar counter at the back, seats arranged congenially in front and even a couple of snugs, which are not advertised as such, but are unmistakable when on your way to the toilets. A plethora of hand pumps had beers from Great Newsome, Oakham and Castle Rock, plus a few Welsh breweries like local Conwy and Dwy Afon (Two Rivers) , plus one from Cheshire. I went for Tatton Best (NBSS 3.5) and Conwy Welsh Pride, which was awful, but not through any fault of the cellarman. I replaced the latter with a stout (Stowt in Welsh) from Dwy Afon (which I rated 4 for condition on the NBSS but thought was a bit amateurish as stouts go). As an experiment in beer exploration I can't fault this, but if I lived in Conwy I don't think I'd be coming here all that often.
