E TA left this review about Hop Kettle

The latest of 4 pubs opened by the Hop Kettle Brewery, this one opened last year. It is housed on the first and second floors of a converted dockside premises alongside other small businesses housed in The Food Dock, giving a view or the docks from the front room and outside decking area. The upper floor is mainly bench seating for diners. The main bar has less of a view, but that's fine given its beer range. On cask were their Throwback, North Wall Bitter, Cosmic Shake, From Dusk, Sippin on the Dock and the experimental Ten x Ten x Ten (1000). Behind the bar, on the wall, were ten keg taps dispensing the same 6 ales from key keg plus some guests including a couple of German pilsners. Four boxed ciders were also available. The staff were very chatty and welcoming, the other customers very civilised. Food is provided by visiting 'pop-up' kitchen companies so is unpredictable, but that's part of the charm. The beer quality was outstanding, we were given samples of each before choosing our pints. They also offer the complete range of Hop Kettle beers in bottles for consumption on the premises or to take away. The host live acts including open mic nights, but (thankfully) this wasn't happening when we visited. By far the best modern pub experience I've had in a long time.
