Visited 15/04/26. Visited previously 03/01/24.
No cask. Keg offering of Brooklyn Stonewall Inn IPA, Shipyard Pale Ale, Estrella and Thatcher's Gold. Decent selection of beers by bottle and can in the fridges behind the bar counter.
One of the more curious places to visit. It is not too far from the London stadium, up a slope and then a winding path. The "main" part is a small rectangular shaped space with regular tables and chairs and the bar counter and the food serving counter forming an L shape and the seating in this part provided by regular tables and chairs. A large screen was showing Amazonian aerial footage and there was a very pleasant Latin easy listening soundtrack. There is another covered seating area to the side of the bar area also housing regular tables and chairs and there is a large outside seating area, with colourful picnic benches, at the rear. All told, a bit of a trek, but well worth it for the overall experience, if not for the beer experience. It is a pretty colourful venue.

A slightly quirky establishment located on the edge of the Olympic Park and just the other side of the tracks from Pudding Mill station, this is not really a pub in the traditional sense but more of a café/bar type establishment, but you can nonetheless go in and get a pint of something on tap without having to eat, and that’s just what many punters were doing. It’s got a surprising amount of seating once you factor in the conservatory extension at the front and the beer garden at the rear, whilst the pub itself appears to be constructed from disused shipping containers.
Décor wise it’s a little basic perhaps, but not unpleasant with some sort of wood effect flooring, blue paintwork on the walls and some colourful artwork. Seating is basic tables and chairs, but they seem to have made a bit of an effort with the décor, there was wooden shelving behind the bar for spirits and so on, some restrained colourful LED rope lighting and all sorts of Halloween paraphernalia dotted around. It’s probably more suited to a nice sunny day rather than the torrential rain that we had on our visit, since it’s not what you would really call cosy.
There was also an open kitchen at the rear, with the menu consisting mostly of burritos, burgers and sandwiches. My Cubanos sandwich with roast pork, chorizo, cheese, garlic and rosemary roast pepper and American mustard was an enormous portion, and tasty enough I suppose, although it wouldn’t have won any gourmet food awards.
Unfortunately there were no real ales on tap, just Shipyard pale Ale on keg, although on the plus side they had Thatcher’s Gold cider which was a real find and something of a rarity in these parts.
