Collected Fictions is a craft bar in two adjoining shop units that are both small and sparsely decorated, this place is basic to say the least. The bar area in the left has a serving counter on the left-hand wall with several craft taps on the back bar. Thinking it was £6 a pint I went for the Factory DDH that had the number 6 next to it on the drinks board … wrong… it was 6%, and £4.20 for two thirds, so £6.30 a pint. On the rear wall adjacent to the counter are some decks which sat unused during my Friday afternoon visit, but there was some tedious poetry music emanating from the speakers, this ‘music’ was Hoxton niche. Steps in a doorway in the right-hand wall climb to the right-hand seating area with a couple of tables along the rear wall and a beer shelf with stools across the front windows. The service was polite, but this isn’t my sort of place, so I’ll not be returning.

Modern, if basic, craft beer bar in two adjoining ex-shop units with the seating area connected to the compact counter by a couple of steps. Also has a few seats a small tables out on the pavement. Not sure what the usual offering is because I called in during the Hastings Tap Takeover weekend, but I found four from Polly's being served, including the tasty (if deliberately murky) 5.5% Eclipse pale ale (£7.50).
