I'm not really into craft beer places so I was a bit astonished that I didn't mind this place. 6 taps for all your crafty nonsense and a number of cans and bottles oalong the wall behind the bar as well as in a chiller cabinet next to the bar. Some of the bottled beers were bottle conditioned real ales. Not as expensive as most craft ale pubs I've been in. A single room split in two. A decent venue in a town that is pretty rubbish for decent beer.

Drunk Monk is a craft bar at the end of Overton Arcade, which is a covered passageway with a few small businesses either side. It takes up two opposite units, with the bar and four tables to the right and a seating area to the left. The bar counter supports five keg fonts, I went for Brew York’s Son of a Peacher Man which was less than £5 for a pint. There’s also a fridge with lots of craft cans for those who like that sort of thing. Some considered background music played, but there were no other distractions.
I think this offering from Brew York may be my new favourite keg beer. It had me reminiscing with the friendly owner about my younger days back in the nineties when we used to mix Stella with Watermelon Bacardi Breezers to create fruity turbo shandies. This was a good visit and I will certainly make a point of returning if I find myself in the area again.

Great little micro tucked away down an alley. Impressive selection of craft cans. I went for Reach & Dream from New Invention brewery on draught which was excellent. Had a good chat with the owner. Well worth a visit.
